Lambert van Meerten Museum

A gem of a museum in the center of Delft, a stone's throw from Prinsenhof and the Oude Kerk. You not only travel through time, but also through art and the life of a versatile man. Behind the beautiful facade hides a late 19th century house that is stylishly decorated as a reminder of that time. The house contains many 17th century elements, collected at the time by Lambert van Meerten. He wanted to safeguard craftsmanship from the golden age for future generations. The audio tour provides a good insight into the history of the house, the art and craft collection and the fascinating owner of the house. And unlike other museums, here you get to open a lot of cupboards, browse through books and sit on furniture! And let me conclude with the compliments to the staff present - friendly and with a lot of background information. I was even offered a cup of coffee in the former garden room while leafing through a historical book.

Fantastic what a beautiful house, you imagine yourself in the past, highly recommended and the guidance of the volunteers of the museum was also pleasant!
