Inlay 1887 borders Inlaag 2005. Both nature areas offer a large diversity of birds. Background Inlay 1887 (natural monuments): Clay was extracted from the inlay in the nineteenth century for the construction of a reserve dike. The deepened area is sheltered between the dikes. At high tide, the marshy salty grassland with its ditches and pools is a refuge for waders such as redshank, ringed plover and avocet. In the spring it is a popular breeding area.
