The Seafood Bar

1 year ago I posted a review I tried last week again and was very pleased about the distancing. Tables and guests were in the norm of Corona time. Food was as usual fresh, good and we enjoyed it combined with good choice of wine. Review 2019 Look nice, food is not as expensive as in most seafood restaurant......but....it's so loud and it's not a place to have a quiet conversation at dinner. Not for a romantic couple! The tables are way too close to each other. To me it's more like a stylish bazaar restaurant where you come only to eat. I was given a glass of wine with lipstick stain, discretely I informed the waiter. He didn't even say sorry, it was just ok I give you another one!

The plateau „fruits de mer” should be called “fruits de merde”. Whoever had the idea to put pickled hering, fake crab with pineapple, and moules on this dish should be barred entry to France for life—although they have clearly never been there before. The best part of this dish was the bread. The staff was very nice though.

I always come here whenever there is something to celebrate with friends for the seafood platter which never disappoints. It Utrecht, it’s the best place to have a seafood platter. Service is also always really great. We once celebrated a friends birthday here (pre-corona) and they help put little decorations on our table to make the dinner a little more special. Only thing is, the condiments that come with the platter could be a little more flavourful and I also wish they had a wider selection of oysters to choose from.

Exceptional food and service! Definitely worth a visit. Pricing is a bit on the higher side but in my opinion it was worth it! Highly recommended!
