During a vulnerable time, I experienced being expelled from this Church. First a warm welcome, but eventually sent away through the back door because they imposed extra rules on me and I could not keep them. I found no agreement of those rules in the Bible. Still, I was no longer welcome

For most people who come here every week it is a nice church. The music is of a high level (very loud, that may be a matter of taste), the people are cordial, there is excellent coffee with warm milk for the enthusiast, both before and after the service. After a few years we left here after there was quite a bit of pressure on other churchgoers (there are no members, only people who come regularly, or people on the leadership team, deacons and elders). Church leaders believe that you should not come again, for example if you live together without being married or if you want to divorce your partner. They then decide for you that you are not at home with them. The church is also negative towards (at least practiced) homosexuality and conflicts are not always resolved properly. I also have trouble with the relationship between men and women. For example, men, as the head of the family, should make the decision about whether or not to perform intensive leadership tasks and only then inform their wives. Women do speak in the congregation, but are explicitly not eldest (they may be supportive of their partner). In practice, a number of people have left over the years who were 'out of place', that is, felt condemned or not heard, or were simply told that they were no longer welcome. Other churchgoers will not always notice this. People simply do not come anymore and there is explicitly no attention from the church. Discussions about this take place behind closed doors and in certain cases it is even forbidden to talk about its content. You are very welcome and it is also a really nice church, as long as you agree with the church leaders and / or stick to their rules. For us this was not the place, although we were still welcome. I prefer to go to a more inclusive church where there is room to differ and where leaders try not to exert as much influence on the churchgoers.
