Monk Bouldergym Amsterdam

I went here to buy my first climbingshoes. I received great help from the staff and ended up buying a really nice pair suiting my needs! The boulders in this gym were great; many different type of boulders of a great variety of grades. All in all, as a somewhat beginner climber, I had a great time at this gym.

Nice facilities and location but notorious for arrogant staff. The climbing community is a very inclusive one but that's not the vibe you get when being reluctantly greeted by the blonde girl at the bar. I see reviews dating 10 months back that already cover this but it hasn't been sorted out. Also the holds are quite crusty. Perhaps a weekly brush on top of the 6-weekly thorough cleaning would help.

Nice little hall! And very well decked out for its size. Showers are not fantastic but they get the job done. Would climb again!

Wonderful view for the coffee break! And of course, very nice Boulder routes, small, but very wide variety of difficulties, perfect to find out what level you are on. Definitely worth a visit!
