Parking in Zwolle is just well organized. Clear signage. Parking spaces look well cared for. Price outside the canal still somewhat reasonable. Within the canal much too expensive. A walk is then rewarded, we will say. What is also nice is that it is often indicated whether a parking space is full. So you don't drive on it unnecessarily.

Messy, dirty and unsafe do not make the experience enjoyable, this can be much better, look at the North Island, very unfortunate.
