Visboer Statue

The "Viskoopman" by Gerard Brouwer from 1984, with his big box of fish in front of his belly, rolled up sleeves, apron and rubber boots, is strong and imposing looking fish. The man looks like a strong character from all the fish lugging that he has been doing for years. The fish worker statue seems to be a diligent worker. A no-nonsense person, who seems to want to say that he cannot be ridiculed, but laughs. Gerard Brouwer tells this story of the worklife of this fish seller with its unique body language of the statue. A beautiful piece of art on a corner of a busy street.
