Absolutely love this place! The surprise menu is very nice if you like trying new dishes like I do. The wine selection is lovely. The interior is beautiful and the service is excellent. Desserts were very creative and delicious. Staff was friendly and impeccably well trained and professional. recommend

The most incredible fine dining experience I've had all year. Definitely reserve this a week prior! We had the 4 course meal with paired half glass wines which was the best option as we still got to taste everything and appreciate not having to spend a fortune. The fact we could watch the chefs too made it really special. All the dishes were "wow" quality. Thank you guys for the amazing work!

During the November lockdown, The Bishop has set up a home delivery menu for diners. The ingredients, semi prepared, were delivered as per the order. An excellent four course menu came with clear instructions and an informative sheet about the cheese course. A fantastic way to have a special meal. Well done!

Truly one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I've lived in Leiden a couple of years now and eaten at The Bishop many times. Without fail, Mello and his wonderful team always wow us with incredibly delicious food, an ever-changing menu, great wine recommendations, and of course the lovely ambience. Through lockdown, we have had their take-away menu twice and somehow they are still able to capture the magical Bishop experience at home. Sincerely cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough!

Despite our last minute booking, the owner greeted us personally upon arrival and went out of his way to upgrade our table. Our own dedicated hostess Lisa was very knowledgeable about the excellent food & wines, and the architecture & history of the building. Her service was excellent and the entire staff made us feel instantly at home. They surprised us with a complementary desert as we celebrated an anniversary.
