Fantastic food, I had the burger. Taste was on point, the side salad was simple but tasted very good. We couldn't resist ordering cake too and it was worth every calorie. If we return to Leiden we will eat here for sure.

We went for dinner and were very disappointed. The local is nice and the staff friendly BUT the food is just not worth it. Almost nothing was homemade. They just serve you industrial vegan meat substitutes with supermarket-bought sauces. The "sashimi" is a commercial vegan "fish" straight out of the plastic bag presented to you with a bit of soy sauce and nothing else. It's outrageous. The only things that looked homemade were the desserts (we didn't try them so I cannot comment). I don't understand the good reviews. PD. To the owner: 1) I do not mind the use of vegan "fish" or other substitutes, I just wish there was some manipulation to improve them before serving them. 2) If I had had a bad experience because of an isolated issue I would have talked to you or the staff, that was not the case. I was disappointed by the restaurant's approach to vegan food and I wrote an honest opinion. I wish there have been a review like this before our visit because then I'll have known what to expect.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars, but at the moment it must be 4. The service was very friendly and attentive, but half the items on the menu seemed to be unavailble (July 2020). This could be due to the failing tourist season, but was disappointing nonetheless. The food I got was pretty good, and well presented. The locale is clean and spacious and I think you can also eat outside if the weather permits. Overall a place I recommend due to the friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and of course the food.

Whether I go here to eat my favorite lunch, jackfruit cubanos, or to have a cup of one of their delicious teas, every time my day is made by the endless positivity of hostess Esther. I really hope they will be around for a long, long time :)
