Lovely in the centre of Amersfoort. Very friendly welcome, received explanations about the accommodation and the surroundings. The building is a characteristic old building. The square where the building is located is a cozy busy square full of bars and restaurants. Directly in front of the hotel on the square you can eat and drink until late in the evening in the summer sun on the square. Great place to explore Amersfoort. Most within walking distance. Or walk to the train station and rent an ov-bike to explore the area (Utrechtse Heuvelrug). As the rooms are in an old building they are all different. We had the attic room overlooking the square. Simple but certainly good enough. Good daily practice on the stairs! Breakfast is fine. Indicate what you want and it will be made. At the moment because of the Covid-19 situation no breakfast buffet but service at the table. If you want to explore Amersfoort this is a cozy hotel. Much nicer than a new hotel on the outskirts of town!

In the morning they serve a very well made breakfast, at a very comfortable pace. It will appeal to both the business as well as the leisure traveler, the word is "welcome" here. You would be staying in the middle of the historic city with many good opportunities to see and visit, even if it is last minute. the patrons here, are very practical, polite and take great care of their customer. It is a comfortable room and all things in "de Gaaper" come with a very fair price, "what you see is what you get" and there is even more to experience..
