The exhibition is organized by decades so you can see the progress made over time. It covers many aspects from daily life up to politics and pop culture. You can see there ads from every era showing pretty well what people were shopping for. Large section is devoted to toys. Next to permanent exhibition there was a temporary one focused on DDR. Pretty interesting too.

Take a trip down memory lane and see all the stuff you forgot you had, your parents had, your grandma had .. An enjoyable hour or two can be spent here. Location is also nice.

If you are a millennial and you want to take a trip down memory lane, this is the place to go to. You will see your childhood video game console, your parents fridge and your grandparents TV. Like pretty much all Dutch museums that I visited, it is well organized and neat, and the exhibited material is significant. The setting for this museum is also original as it was a prison. Unfortunately what this museum lacks is interaction: if you are taking your kids to show them things they never heard of, you will succeed, but they will quickly be bored. It would be much improved if the visit would become more immersive and not just items on display. Aside the arcade games that you can play with, all other items are just exhibits.
