In July we visited this jeweler to buy a watch from Mondaine. The watch first needed a new battery. Picked up the watch the next day and gave it to someone. As it turns out when the watch was unpacked: back damaged and small hand did not go well. Returned to the jeweler. No sorry just "oow" with the offer to choose something else. Indicated that we wanted this watch but a new one. After all, we had already given it to someone. Jeweler would order it and call us when it arrived. Didn't get a call, went there myself. It took a week longer (now more than 3 weeks later), watch was not yet in. Called the week after, really get 4 different answers (holiday period, needs to be checked, etc) and you are asked 3 times for a repair number. Then the owner herself comes on the phone Mrs. Madena and she says: "The watch cannot be ordered, the model is no longer available." When I ask why we were never called to report this, she replied, "I already told you when you were in the store." I say that she did not say this to us. Her answer was, "Then it is your word against mine." We went back to the store and got our money back. We have asked what they themselves think of the situation and really no sensible word came out. A "sorry" couldn't get over it. The only thing these people are good at is their friendly sales pitch, but if something goes wrong ... Apologizing and admitting mistakes decorates people, but they have no knowledge of that at Madena. We will never set foot in here again. Don't go there.

Jeweler Madena has put a new battery in my 15 year old watch and then made it waterproof. Two very friendly old ladies work here. They have done a very good job with my watch and have handled it with care. They also made time on the spot to record my ring sizes. What caused me inconvenience was that they took a lot of time to repair my watch by the watchmaker; about 1 month. Furthermore, they were not communicative with regard to informing the status of the repair. I should have called them a few times to ask what the status is. The result counts and that is certainly worth 4 stars.
