Picked up a 4-course Christmas menu yesterday (... corona ...) and eaten today on my birthday as newcomers in Winsum ..... really excellent! They understand what flavor and cooking is ...

We were extremely looking forward to our visit to Refter, but unfortunately the evening was disappointing. Service is not inviting, has no knowledge of the matter, really cannot be prepared, does not take any initiative, serves a bottle of wine that has not been ordered but has already been opened, lets the dessert fall over but then serves it out. The bisque beforehand was good. Then the plaice fillet from the menu: amount of hollandaise and fillet completely out of proportion. Two fillets would have been more appropriate for the price of 12 €. Then my table mate's risotto (main) was dry and not flavored. Dish returned and given the pace of the kitchen and service no replacement dish requested. Chef came to the table and suggested "peeping" the returned dish with some stock. Huh? "Another bowl of fries then?" No thanks. Then I ordered the dessert from the menu: apricot with vanilla, almond parfait and verbena. The parfait was not a parfait, but ice with crystals and the apricot was too hard. The vanilla sauce with verbena was tasty. At the checkout, the chef quickly shot into the kitchen. The risotto was taken off the bill, but no compensation was offered. Finally, we were allowed to walk ourselves.

Delicious eaten. Thanks to a good manual and a few simple actions, tasty hot food on the table at home. Really recommended.

Appetizer burrata highly recommended. Entrecote is baked on takeout and was deliciously tender. Super quality. Compliments to the cook. Enjoy your meal.
