Assen

Train station has been updated. It has elevator access to all platforms, has a cycle hire and bike stall under the station. Area around station still being improved hopefully finished and beautiful by the end of 2018

Old station, and not in a good way. Can however get a decent cup of coffee here.

Three train platforms and a regional bus depot. I purchased a one way ticket to Groningen with credit card at the ticket vending machine near platform 1. The train departed from platform 3, over the foot bridge. At the station there is a small snack shop, WC and bicycle parking and rental shop. In August 2017, there are many workers repairing or renovating the platform shelters.
