Recently I was able to purchase a beautiful piece of art by Te Wierik at the Arnold Art Gallery in Gasselternijveen. Not only am I very pleased with the work itself, but also with the way in which owner Arnold quietly took me along in his vision of the collection, his clear and competent advice and, last but not least, his enthusiasm which enabled me to the best choice for us. Hospitality, knowledge and craftsmanship. This address is an absolute must for the art lover!

This is a special affair. My ex-babysitter had passed away and I had been taking care of her as a caregiver for 5 years. Before her forced move to a care home, she had been robbed by her (former) financial advisor. After her death I found 4 of the stolen oil paintings from the Hague School on the Internet, all of which could be traced back to V.O.F. Arnold art company. That is why I decided to go to the small town near Assen to ask for clarification and to present the case with the police file. The Leidschendam / Voorburg police did not want to take any action in this case, hence. Although the gallery owner and his wife were very courteous, they did not want to reveal the names of those who brought in the paintings, nor the addresses to which they had gone. One of those addresses was Catawiki in Assen (I had already discovered that myself). The piece that still had to be sold was sold despite my e-mail that this was stolen property. I think it is very bad and reprehensible that this is possible in the Netherlands. Therefore reasonable and 3 stars, although the gallery is large and there is something to choose from for every taste and budget.

Beautiful extensive collection with a good price-quality ratio. Extensive and expert information is provided. The paintings have beautiful frames. The paintings can be admired in the gallery itself, but also on the website. Last purchase a beautiful painting by Evert Moll, view of Amsterdam. A painting to really make you happy. The gallery invites you to visit not only because of the paintings, but also because of the hospitable reception. I can recommend this gallery to everyone.
