The landmark Jacobus church is a very scenic formerly catholic church in the centre of Rolde (once the capital of the province of Drenthe). All the ancient roads in the neighbourhood converge in a star pattern towards this church ... indeed you can see it from a distance in many places.

The history of Rolde bubbles out of the ground here. The surroundings are fantastic and invites for beautiful walks in the old landscape!

Beautiful church, beautifully restored. Nice organ, it is said with good sound. Special stained glass windows around the choir. Various large gravestones, but unfortunately little legible text.

Beautiful church also inside, but unfortunately no stamp from St. Jacob's path, because the alternative was also closed. Is it an idea to put something in the church to stamp yourself?
