Koeien en Kaas - Zoetermeer

We have been eating here regularly, the food and service is always good. We will keep coming back.

This restaurant 'Cows and Cheese' only recently opened in Zoetermeer, already having similar concepts in two other locations. We love meat and cheese, so naturally this deserved a try. The restaurant itself looks absolutely fantastic, is has a nice rustic industrial feel with low strategic lighting which makes for a great cozy and relaxed atmosphere. I presume because they recently opened there wasn't a lot of wait staff yet, so it took a little long sometimes to get service, but I assume they'll monitor this and employ staff as necessary. You have a lamp on your table that you can turn upside down to alert wait staff that you require service. The food: it was absolutely sublime. Two of us had the filet steak with molten cheese on top, it was delicious and the steak was well-cooked (medium rare was a little bit more medium than rare). We also ordered the side dish of cheese and garlic, and I can definitely recommend you'll be wanting to dip everything in this. I also had some of the best cheese fries ever here. None of that plastic cheese sauce stuff, this is the real deal. If I would have to point out something that could be better it would be the blue cheese sauce. It was a nice sauce but didn't taste of blue cheese that strongly, and the sauce itself was a brown gravy-like color which is not what you expect when ordering blue cheese sauce. The desserts were again all masterpieces in their own right. The best was probably the stroopwafel trifle, just delicious. This restaurant has so many desserts I'd like to try, a good reason to visit again. But not too soon, because for sure it's not good for one person to eat this much cheese in one sitting, #worth it though!

Well, the restaurant looks nice, nice decor, cozy atmosphere. Friendly service, not too quick or perceptive. Fairly varied menu and the food is really delicious. The cheese soup and the garlic bread are delicious, the surf and turf is delicious. The dishes are only quite expensive, the bill quickly rises.
