Old age comes with defects, especially if you are already 140 years old. Wood rot in the tower, sagging foundations, overdue paintwork: the Oudewateren residents did not let that happen. An active foundation was (and is) successfully committed to preserving this monument. There is now a rescue plan for the multicolored stained glass windows. Get to work!

The R.K. Parish St Francis of Assisi in Oudewater dates from 1882. A very beautiful church really a sight. Beautiful altars, statues and paintings. There is a Eucharistic celebration every other week on Saturday evening at 7 pm and every Sunday at 10 am a Eucharist celebration or a Word and Communion celebration (see the regional newspaper) I experience the church services in a good atmosphere and feel like a warm blanket. I am a member of the St Caecilia choir myself.
