The municipality of Ommen is great to stay in, to live in or to visit. People here still have time for a chat. They are friendly and generally know a lot about the area. The recreation possibilities are unprecedented. Think of cycling, motorcycling, canoeing, mountain biking, horseback riding or driving through the area with the convertible. You can also go on foot. An incredible number of nice paths have been laid through the many forests of Ommen. Equestrian trails too! Take a drive to Varssen, Vilsteren or Dalfsen. Take a look in Ommerschans or at the various castles and country houses. Or the sculpture garden in Witharen. The center is also worth a visit. A beautiful town with a rich history. After all those activities, there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the hospitality industry. Delicious with an ice cream on the terrace on the Vecht or the Regge or a pizza in the center of the city. Something for everyone. In summary: Ommen has it!

The versatile environment is known nationally for its particularly beautiful farm landscapes, historic estates and beautiful cycling and walking routes, also with horse. The cozy center with its shops, the popular terraces and restaurants and not least the friendly people. The five-star rating seems entirely appropriate here!

Nice town with beautiful surroundings. Landgoed Eerde or a trip Lemelerberg is always easy to do from ommen. However, the infrastructure around the bridge is still not optimal. The only bridge over the river Vecht in the area is not always able to handle the traffic. Especially in the summer when tourism attracts and many people want ice cream from ekkelenkamp, traffic almost crashes there. Unfortunately, ommen does not offer a lot to starters and the waiting time to get a starter home through the housing association can now easily rise to 9 to 10 years.
