Came back to change my review from 4 to 1. Came here 4-5 times in the past year and although the service was extremely slow, at least I enjoyed the beautiful interior. Unfortunately, a pretty decoration is not enough to keep me coming back. The service is painfully slow to the point where you have to go up to the bar just to ask for a cup of coffee. The waitresses are always chatting and going around aimlessly, avoiding eye contact with people trying to order. I see that whoever is the manager/owner is responding to the reviews and seems to be concerned. However, no changes have been made a year later. A kind word does not change a bad experience and does not give a reason for people to come back. Pretty space but after you take a photo, don’t come back!

Good colour scheme, botanical vibes and good cocktails. Service varies, one waitress was rude and one waitress was lovely. Food was average and not worth the price.

I visited yesterday with my girlfriend for the 5th time and was again shocked at how lazy the staff was. We waited 20 minutes to order (not outside) and the staff was going around without looking at us. There are better places to visit in Amsterdam with much more creative plates, better ambience and most importantly professional staff.

Such a beautiful place, has great potential. Went there to meet 2 friends, for Friday lunch. Travelled all the way from the other side of Amsterdam especially to go visit this spot, had been very excited. Service was appalling, extremely slow, not friendly at all. Takes them 30 minutes to come take an order, another 30 minutes for a coffee to arrive. The servers seemed a bit upset at having to be there at all 😂 My lunch was very tasty, mackerel toast, but I could probably have gone fishing and caught a fish in the time it took to arrive 😂 In this time of corona, I think they should really update their system and offer the QR orders and payment that most other Amsterdam establishments now offer. Sorry Bar Botanique, never again!
