The stainless steel statue was placed in the Oosterpark in 1992. In the pointed image three elements can be found, flame and fire, a wave; it is in the fourth. It stands in the southern reed collar of the ever-flowing pond, which cuts through the park from east to west. On the south side of that park, but outside it, at house number Oosterpark 82 / 82a, is the Witsenhuis, named after Tachtiger Willem Witsen, meeting place of Tachtigers and other artists. In the lawn in front of the statue, a poem by Jacques Perk from the 1980s can be read in a waterproof lectern (data February 2020), as well as an explanation of the statue.
