Camping de Paal

Great campsite, super child-friendly. Staff is super all-round and the “Viva-clowns” keep the kids entertained such that parents can relax too. Tip: small tents are also welcome for overnight stay (iso week by week reservations for larger tents/ caravans), specifically at “trekkersveldje”

First visit here and I must say they truly live up to their name of "best camping place for children". Large placed to set up your equipment and play site across the whole location, all fitted for children no matter the age. Also large pool facility complete with large slides and a whole water playground. Friendly staff and great restaurant to top it all off!

Not finished there yet but so far loving it. Child having a complete ball, so much to do with the water areas being top of the fav list. Facilities are fab...even down to family bathrooms with a bath which are free for anyone to use. There have been two hiccups...last night in the swimming pool there was lots of messing by some young lads having a ball but my kid got pushed from a high slide and wanted to go home. We only saw the workers there to clean up with one moodily dropping the chairs onto each other from a height. As I sat right next to one pile while it was being done, I found it a bit much/rude. The other was at the restaurant where we asked to leave because my child only wanted chips (there was nothing else we were told the previous evening for someone allergic to wheat.) and I was dying to just sit and have a coffee while he munched and enjoy the lovely restaurant surroundings. We were sent to the chipper for for takeaway. So no coffee for me and relaxing. Anyway, apparently we were allowed do it as a very nice waiter said the next day when I sat with nothing and my kid ate his ice-cream. But there were two instances and otherwise everything is fab. Great supermarket..anything from mangos and avocados to freshly baked bread and all the supplies you forgot plus decent games/books for the kids and yourself. It turns out the soup is gluten free and my son loved it...so no more chips! The food is nice enough if a little pricey. The entertainment seems great....we haven't gone as my kid doesn't speak Dutch but we watched some gorgeous fireworks from the tent. There is SO much to do. Complete kids paradise. It's the first holiday where I am here for a few days by myself with him and he has lots more freedom than normal without me worrying. It's so relaxing...he's having a ball and I am alternating between playing with him and just relaxing, guilt free. We'll definitely be back and the two small snags were just two individuals maybe having a bad day.....no reflection on the place itself as they were outnumbered by so many lovely staff. 2 things that I would want to know beforehand as a non Dutch person: 1 the showers etc are completely private and fab and 2. once you pay for your pitch literally everything is included...the only thing you might choose to pay for is the laundry. All activities and all facilities are included in the price. So in every which way you can relax....kid having fun, so much to do,very safe, very clean, friendly, private when it needs to be, loads of facilities and no surprise costs. Also the village it is in is really lovely, quaint with some nice shops/restaurants. Worth a visit.

Very good place to stay for touring Cyclists, free wi-fi, full service restaurant, Grocery store, swimming pool (included in price) and a Zoo for the kids.
