The campsite is located in a beautiful spot. Good opportunities for hiking, cycling and mountain biking from the campsite. Good sanitary facilities. Dogs welcome. Beautiful tent meadow. Not five stars. It was too busy for us. (campers, who come there more often, were also shocked by the crowds). The fellow campers are generally quiet. Because there is no departure / arrival time after reservation, there are all day and evening going and coming campers with car or camper. That is restless. We also think it is a pity that the cars have to be parked next to the caravans; gives a lot of traffic. At one point I only made one comment about smelly garbage. A big cart, full of dirt in the heat ........ brrrr If it becomes possible again in the future that people can and can travel abroad, we would like to come back again. Then it will probably be quieter.

The first impression when entering the campsite was: large, busy and massive. Once we were installed on the Huiswei, against the cow pasture and with a view of the forest, little of that first impression was left. Because the campsite is divided into various meadows, it does not come across as massive and the campsite can even be called quiet. There is a special tent field for tent campers, where cars are not allowed (except arrival and departure). Check-in was currently done by e-mail, so you can start looking for a place immediately upon arrival. You can go to the campsite early on the booked day and on the day of departure you have all day to pack. A real plus. The sanitary facilities are fairly new and are kept clean. Despite the corona measures, more than adequate sanitation. The past week with almost full occupancy, never having to wait for a sanitary stop, wash or shower. Bread service was unfortunately not available during this period, but Epen (where, among other things, a small supermarket and a bakery) can be walked for the experienced walker. Several times a week an 'ambulance' comes to the campsite with fresh fruit and eggs. The camping site also has many fruit trees (including apples, pears, cherries). There is a restaurant next to the camping site and several restaurants can be found in Epen itself. This campsite is a good base for various walks and cycling trips in the beautiful hilly countryside. Dogs on a leash welcome and the first dog is even free. In our opinion, definitely recommended. TIP: bring an extra extension cord so you don't compromise on your camping spot; there are not power points everywhere ...
