Restaurant Aan Zee Oostvoorne

The surroundings, dunes, beach, etc, is the best reason to come here, not the restaurant. My coffee was cold and my friend got the wrong beer. Then we sat with empty glasses for half an hour. For some reason waiters and waitresses alike just avoid looking at all tables when they walk past, and make empty-handed trips, as in, they don't check and clean up tables as they move about. They could make more money by getting you a second drink and being more engaging. I suppose if your café is here, in this fabulous natural landscape, and you've got no competition next door, you really don't have to try hard, or try to be great. Good, or mediocre, is good enough!

Delicious food and drinks, beautiful place, gorgeous surroundings, lovely staff. Especially the sommelier was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, but all servers were friendly. We reserved for Wine & Food on a Sunday in June, for two, a day in advance, and had our choice between in- and outside. (And the possibility two go back inside if the weather shifted. Always a nice feeling). The Food was copious, to the point where we had to make tough decisions... Quite hard though cause everything was so great! Even with my lactose-intolerance they really delivered. Only slight drawback was that, compared to the excellent sommelier, the service of the food was a bit sad. A young girl just put our stuff down and walked away without ever telling us what we were eating (as it was a surprise menu, this to us seemed a bit weird). I had to call her back and double check if I could eat the soup she put near me (nope, very creamy lactosy soup, had to switch with my husband to avoid all kinds of awfull consequences). But hey, it was a busy day and Corona has us all a bit rattled, so I'll give them that one. It's the food that counts. The wine was, if possible, even more surprising and perfect. We loved it. All that and their being earth-conscious makes it the best place in the Voorne region, for me.

I had with my girlfriend a unique experience at restaurant Aan Zee it is a recommendation to everyone who wants to eat good food at a great location and a relax We have been to so many restaurants but not such as good and unique as this one.
