With great expectations I enrolled my oldest at this school in 2015. Unfortunately, my husband, child and I all agree that Rijnlands in Oegstgeest was not a good choice. One of the biggest problems at this school is that a significant proportion of the students do not come here to learn but to express their frustrations (from home?). (Discriminatory) texts are shouted through the classroom and through the corridors about women and Jews. Remarkably enough, the Rijnlands (the Dutch section) is a very white school, for which we deliberately selected the school because we thought that we would not have the problems in schools in the city here. When my child approached others about their behavior, they said that their parents would give them an (exam) course in chemistry, Dutch or any other subject as a gift and that school "does not interest them and is a waste of time". We do not see the Rijnlands in Oegstgeest at home as a school that provides inspiring education. The two youngest are in other schools where none of these problems are related to Rhenish. That's another way to do it. A solution in Rhenish would be to recognize problems and address them. Unfortunately, my experience has been that the school is characterized by poor management and parents and students are intimidated by a number of male staff members in managerial roles when they open their mouths.
