Enjoyed a mid-week visit to Sluis after a day at the beach. We chose Zevende Hemel for the good reviews and moderate prices. It was beyond our expectations! Very friendly, efficient service. We sat outside on the terrace, just under the Belfort. No crowds, quiet, quaint and cozy. The food was excellent. I ordered the gebakken tarbot, perfectly cooked with a luscious champagne sauce, garnished with fresh spinach and Hollands ganarlen. My partner had the melt in your mouth Kalfs Entrecote with bearnaise sauce, fries and a generous salad. Was too hungry to take pictures of the food but it was beautifully presented on ceramic plates. I have a new favorite restaurant in Sluis. Thanks Zevende Hemel! 🙏
the atmosphere in this restaurant is really great, nice furnishing details. the food was really interesting, but did not hit our nerve. the fish pan hermel was not what we expected. Fish pieces in tons of cream sauce. Maybe this is a specialty, but for us this is not a fish pan, more a cream soup.
Food was excellent and the staff friendly. Will definitely go again.
