De Colonel Zeist

De Colonel is a new restaurant in the centre of Zeist, it’s really a good place. Very friendly and kind waiters, food is delicious and the wines are awesome. I’m really gonna visit this restaurant more.

Nicely renovated and modernized! Friendly service on a beautiful terrace, the inside seems much more spacious due to the different layout. (Shame about the patio heaters, but nobody seems to care about that anymore, they are now really everywhere). Fine choice of fine beers.

Order was quickly taken, serving took very, very long. Staff were somewhat pushy. Waiter threw beer across a table and the girl we paid with forgot her mobile with payment details. "Can happen" was her response (!) Behind us, a lady gave her pancake back twice. Not well she said. There was NO syrup but apple syrup. Our toasted sandwich was a bit sparse. Add 2 pieces of lettuce and a slice of cucumber. Place in the sun was nice.

Good food, good service and a nice spacious terrace! The only downside was that there was a very noisy group drinking beer on the terrace during dinner time, where the owner himself was sitting at the table. We often couldn't understand each other at all. Drinking a beer is of course not a problem and logical on the terrace of a café, but it could have been less noisy, especially during dinner. Something that the owner might have seen himself.

Really a top tent unfortunately when it opens we are back. PLEASE KEEP FULL
