The Michael church in Leersum is pretty historical ... dates back to the 13th century and the tower was built in the 15th century. Perhaps tellingly, the church is directly next to the liquor store. Although it is no longer a catholic church.

It has been around for quite some time now: the chapel that started it all dates from the mid / late 13th century, the tower from around 1500, the 'ship' (with late Romanesque touch) from the early 14th century. Decay and yet refurbishment follow each other up to and including the last extension (2004). Not to be missed monument that stands directly on the street, the cycle path goes right past it. In the choir the burial vault of Frederik van Nassau Zuylestein and his son, 17th century celebrities. Distantly related to? Not mentioned. So.

What a beautiful church! Very suitable for a funeral service. AV also fine. Nice cooperation with the sexton.
