Huis Doorn

A history gem in the Netherlands. The last German Kaiser rests in this place.

Nice audio-tour, also guides in every room to tell you about the history. Beautiful environment.

Nice park, house and extra exhibition area to spend a couple of hours or so. I enjoyed the guided tour but it was only in Dutch. Parking was just outside the main entrance and it was free (but maybe it was only because it was February; there was a gate there). I was not lucky with the garden (February) but I look forward to visiting again later, when the rosarium is in flower. Entrance is free with a Dutch Museum card.

Amazing piece of history, enthousiastically narrated by engaged guide. Well worth a visit. Don't forget to visit the nearby Castle Amerongen that also played a role as backdrop to the Emperor's downfall.
