Jan Gerrit Kets was born in Drempt on January 17, 1868. He took his doctor's exam on May 15, 1896 and settled after his doctor's exam in Renswoude. There he married Alberta Geertruida van Essen. Their first son Jan Herman was born on October 6, 1900. June 1, 1901 Jan Gerrit established himself as a general practitioner in Veenendaal. In 1927 his eldest son Jan Herman graduated as a doctor and went to help his father in practice. The practice address was then Hoofdstraat 9 B (now the Bruna store in the Hoofdstraat). In 1932, the practice moved to Hoofdstraat 26 (now Zeeman's shop) with the well-known corridor to the waiting room and the pharmacy. Jan Gerrit Kets gradually withdrew. After the years had passed, the practice of Jan Herman Kets became too big and in 1967 he started working with Simon Heij, who was previously established as a general practitioner in the Klomp. Hans succeeded his father on April 1, 1971. The practice address remained until 26 April 1974 at Hoofdstraat 26, after which Simon Heij and Hans Kets moved to the building at Hubert van Zuilenweg, the "Huisartsenhuis". Simon Heij stopped practicing on January 1, 1985 at the age of 65. He was succeeded by Tim Verschuur who continued the practice with Hans Kets. The fourth generation of Kets, daughter Wendy, graduated in 2002 as a general practitioner. She started as a HIDHA (general practitioner employed by a general practitioner) with her father and started her own practice in 2004. Hans Kets was succeeded on April 1, 2006 by Carin Huizinga. However, he continued to observe regularly until January 1, 2010. Tim Verschuur was succeeded October 1, 2016 by Femke Owen.
