De Dorpskerk

In 1641 a four-armed cross church was put into use. The four cross arms are of equal length, which led to a round shape that is characteristic of Protestant church construction in the 17th century. This village church was burned by the French as early as 1672. The rebuilding of the church started in 1682 and it was opened in 1683. The Dorpskerk, located at the Oude Sluis, dates from 1683 as the rebuilding of the first Protestant church building in Vreeswijk from 1641.
