Museumhuis Rams Woerthe

Rams Woerthe actually consists of two museums: in the basement there is the Hildo Krop Museum, dedicated to the ceramics collection of this Amsterdam City Sculptor (1884-1970) and the bel etage floor, dedicated to the recently restored Jugendstil/Art Nouveau interior. Both venues are unique and well worth a visit. For people who love Amsterdam the Hildo Krop museum is a must: He sculpted many bridge decorations at the beginning of the 20th century. The Jugendstil bel etage has a special kind of magic. The volunteers who are effective here know how to create a grand bourgeois atmosphere. This is quite peculiar when you get to know more about the political convictions of the sculptor Hildo Krop. Outside the museums there is a beautiful deer park and also the fortificated town of Steenwijk is well worth a visit.

Stunning art Deco house, almost complete restored.

Unfortunately a negative experience from our 70+ couple. After entering we had to wait at the front door in the cold until the people in front of us had received all the information. We were not allowed to sit on a bench in the hall, although there was plenty of space there. We were also not allowed to keep our coats on. We were treated very unfriendly and therefore went home straight away. So seen nothing. A waste of time on this chilly day, we have never had such an experience.

Awesome!! This must be the most beautiful Jugendstil house in the Netherlands. It can rival houses of Victor Horta. Hildo Krop museum is the wonderful bonus. Huge recommendation!
