I am not the type to go out of my way to write negative reviews. So it takes a special kind of terrible for me to feel the need to write a review. Before my visit, I had seen all the negative reviews here. However, I wanted to give ABN-AMRO the benefit of the doubt. Amid a raging pandemic, I had no choice but to travel 2 hours to their office... to meet with them by video call. Yes, I was sitting alone in one of their offices talking to a monitor. And yes, that person was late to our appointment even though she never had to leave her house. To put it mildly, she was not a pleasant person. In addition, when making the appointment my call was transferred by four employees who did not know how to do their jobs. And finally, I was still given the wrong information. I do not recommend this branch. Their employees were embarrassingly incompetent.

Absolutely disgusted by this banks attitude towards foreigners, and I see by the other reviews that I am not alone. I was quite shocked to receive discrimination from them. I contacted the Gemeente expat division, and they said that it is unacceptable that as a European citizen, I am not treated the same as a Dutch citizen. I pay my taxes, I contribute to society. Rabobank on the other hand have welcomed me for private and business banking and accommodated my every need. My business is a success, and ABN AMRO lost out on easy money, funny that... since it's a bank and all.

Very unfriendly to foreigners, don`t wanna help you even though normally appointments are not required, one and a half hour before closing but they say come another day because they dont feel like helping you. Want to get a credit card as a international student = impossible.

Worst possible bank ever. They lie to you without any problem. They don t justify their refusals for your loan requests. This is not a bank. ABN offers no service to their customers. Only takes their money. If you are an expat, just choose something else. ING, or RaboBank. You ll thank me for the correct choice ; ) .
