The Turnery

We planned to spend a long weekend with our fam. Grandpa, grandmother, children and grandchildren at "The Turnery", a mini camping site in a unique quiet spot, selected by my niece. However, we liked this place so much that now, after 2 weeks, still standing. Just a spacious site in the middle of nature, without fuss but still everything you need within reach. In addition, nice owners, who let you go about your business as long as you behave decently and follow the rules. This may not be the best place for people who like new and tight mowing, but for us it was bliss. For me personally it was as if I were on a super natural camping site. Unfortunately, this is the last year the Turnery has existed in its current capacity. The owners Tessa and Sander have found another destination for this unique site. I understand, but I deeply regret that it is disappearing for campers like me, who are looking for natural value, small-scale tranquility, space and affordability. So dear campers, if you are looking for peace, plenty of space, spacious nature and do not care about a tuft of weeds or small imperfections, take your chance this year, because unfortunately, unfortunately this is you last chance to enjoy as a camper at this unique place in Afferden. And I would like to thank Tessa and Sander for the hospitality and flexible attitude that we as a fam have experienced. The campsite is 100 meters from the Pieterpad, but it is somewhat dated. The sanitary facilities are old but clean. Little maintenance is done on the campsite. Certain power points were not working due to lightning strikes 2 weeks earlier, hedges and shrubs are badly or not trimmed, the tennis court is full of bulky waste and the grass has not been mowed in several places for weeks. We heard from other camping guests that the campsite will close for a major renovation, we do not know when this will be. Certain showers and toilets are closed due to corona measures

Faded glory, friendly people and large places in the middle of nature. On Friday a lot of noise from the nearby center parcs Heyderbos.

Fine!!! Unfortunately this season opened as a campsite for the last time ...
