Quality of medical help really depends on which doc you get assigned to, there are a lot of young doctors(trainee /huisarts in opleiding) and some are good and some are bad. I was told to endure severe pain for several months even when I could not walk properly because of it. My doctor was really dismissive of pain which delayed getting proper care. I had to go to UMC and the university doctor there said I should have been cared for earlier. Even with that comment my GP only booked to see me after 2 weeks and I could not walk for the duration. Called reception due to pain worsening and they said “if you were okay with us booking appointment in 2 weeks, it must not have been serious pain so we can’t make it faster for you.”
After basically telling them I will go to emergency room they let me come and the place was practically empty. I was assigned to different doctor and she took really good care of it and said she couldn’t understand why the original doctor made me wait so long.
Thankfully based on the staff list in website the doctor who caused me great pain seems to not work there anymore.
If appointment is longer than 20 min. +20€.
Too many appointments over 20 min. without knowing. Could be nice if they remind this especially to expats.
Have stayed with them for the duration of my bachelor but will be happy to stop using their services. Getting an appointment is easy and relatively quick but that is the only good thing I can say.
Takes 2 people and too much time to do a blood test, nothing is mentioned at any moment regarding the 100€ bill you will receive a few weeks later for the analysis, receptionists are not very friendly (read: will remind you every 5 minutes, even when taking your blood, that you need to pay at the reception when you leave because they are the ones who forgot to make you pay when you first arrived), doctor « forgets » to tell you they book you for 2 appointments back to back and you only find out when you have to pay on the day, I have also had a receptionist (who was apparently a trainee) be the person who inserted something in me while under anaesthetics without it being discussed before... The number of times I have been told to come back (and therefore make another new appointment) for an issue that did not require a new consultation lets me believe this practice has no interest in their patients, only the money.
The one doctor that has consistently failed to inform me of the real costs and made me come in (for little to no reason) was always the young blonde one.
Were not bad in the past, but have been getting worse. If you have urgency they may fit you in that day, but you have to be lucky and almost beg. If it is not urgent you'll be lucky to get an appointment that same week. They will not refer you to a specialist unless it is so obvious it is necessary that they become afraid of malpractice. The doctors seem to be able to say only 1 word: paracetamol. The assistants are a disaster, trying to triage even when it is obvious they shouldn't. The only reason I am still a "client" (it is obvious it is only a business, they don't really care for their patients) is the proximity and the difficulty to get into another one. As soon as I move I'll be happy to leave these people behind.
Last word of advice: try to get some of the younger doctors. They are less likely to stonewall you no matter what. The older ones (especially Reitz, who is completely incompetent) will avoid giving you anything other than paracetamol.
You come just after accident to see your GP and guess what they say? You don't have an appointment, sorry we have no doctors to help you. Wait till 17:30 and call the hospital then you can say we are closed and they will help you.
