Weverijmuseum Geldrop

Run by volunteers who have worked there. Our excellent guide started at 14 years old and gave us a great tour. It's a wonderful piece of history giving great insight in what it was like to work in the weaving industry. They still have working looms and they make beautiful dish towels and bespoke table cloths. Well worth a visit.

Interesting museum with an overview of the development of weaving from home industry to industrial activity. Good number of working looms with good explanation.

It is a small museum but all people are very friendly, if you speak Dutch it is Ideal because they explain to you in detail how everything worked and you see the machines working. It has an item shop made there, among other memories. I loved! I do not recommend it for very young children because everything works and it is a temptation to touch everything. You can arrive by bicycle or car, there is a bus stop quite close.
