Ingenhousz Breda

We had an amazing stay at Ingehousz. We stayed for 8 nights and we really liked the set-up of the room. It is an apartment but it comes with the service of a hotel. I especially liked the friendliness and service orientated staff. It is a fairly new hotel so some things are still being figured out but that only makes it more charming. Quality of the rooms, the food and drinks is very good. Definitely would recommend this place. Location is good as well. You can easily walk to downtown Breda and parking is for free which is a big plus.

Delicious diner, highly recommended

What a nice restaurant, a great asset to Breda. Beautiful dishes and surprising combinations. Although there are delicious dishes on the menu, I recommend the 4-course menu. The choice of dishes is certainly in good hands with chef David van de Gevel (and that's how you discover something new too). What impressed us a lot was the way in which he was creatively able to make the vegetarian version of the menu so that it fit seamlessly with the non-vegetarian menu. Enjoy two different menus with many details. The employees are professional and at the same time informal. They take all the time for a good explanation of the dishes and actively participate in the choice of wine. After one glass of wine and a short conversation, the right suggestion for a delicious wine came with the next dish. The 'limited edition' port with the cheese platter was also surprisingly different and super tasty. My advice: Just book and be surprised by the creative ideas of David van de Gevel and his team, you will not regret it. At least I'm going to do this more often!

I give restaurant Ingenhousz 3 out of 5 stars. The taste is worth 5 stars, also the ease of parking, but the quantities are the smallest I've ever seen, even smaller than 'nouvelle cuisine'. It is wise to store food in the house to get your tummy full afterwards. This 'far too little' comment also applies to the red wine: costs 2 coins, is 5 euros 60, and for that the glass is only poured 1/3. So I find the portions 'unacceptably small'.
