The weekly market takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on this historic square in front of the old town hall (Dutch: Stadhuis). On Wednesdays there is a goods market around 200 market stalls with the typical products of the farmers (fruit, vegetables, meat, sausage, dairy products) and on Fridays also, but larger: Fresh fish, traditional regional products and a fabric market are added, and there are approx. 300 market stalls.
Nice to rummage around, regional products are fresh and can be very cheap, and there are plenty of photo opportunities here too.
All you need. From smurf caps to drugs of all kinds to lasers that change colors.
We love this market, especially because of the fresh fish and the well-stocked vegetable sales.
