In short: unreliable, unprofessional, untrustworthy. We booked new (young) 4 persons motorhome at RICO Recreatie BV (Richard) in the Netherlands via Camptoo in May'19 for period 27 July - 12 Aug 2019. Paid in full £2,536 for 2 weeks rental. Also paid £1,000 deposit in advance. This was a very disappointing experience for the following reasons: The pick up location changed 3 times (first Meppen, Germany, then Loenen aan de Vecht, Netherlands, then Gieten - North Netherlands). Last change was made while already driving towards Loenen. Friends that we were travelling with had to change their journey and camping reservations as a result. -On arrival at RICO in Gieten (a well established motorhome facility), a nearly 10 year (!) old, 3 berth (!) Chausson camper was offered to us. We immediately explained we are with 4 people (My wife and I, and our two girls aged 7 and 11) and that the camper offered was nothing like the one we ordered: it had brown dated interior, clear wear and tear, 76,000 km milage, no sat nav, no Bluetooth, small fridge). Not nearly new and not 4 berth. Here we were ready for our annual holiday. Richard (owner, by phone) and Jaap (site manager) were very slow in responding to our request to provide the motorhome (or similar) we had booked through Camptoo. Richard his excuse was that the motorhome we had booked ('mooie jonge camper', 2019 Hymer Corado 447, LMC or similar, less than 2,000 km) had broken down in France. Rather than being upfront and trying to resolve, nothing was offered other than 'I understand your disappointment but there is nothing we can do'. When I requested the whole deal to be cancelled and my money paid back, he refused. Clearly visible on site were a selection of newer vehicles, but RICO refused to make another vehicle available, stating this then would move the problem to another customer (!). When asked how 4 persons should sleep, it was suggested the two children can sleep on the single sofa bed, somehow with heads or legs on the front seats. While it was 35 degC outside, our children ready for their holiday, friends waiting for us to arrive in a campsite on the other side of the country, we nearly spend 4 hours at RICO to come to some solution. Jaap offered 10% discount and waiving the service charges. As there was no alternative to us, and with time running out, we agreed on 500 euro return and no further charges. We took the Chausson on our holiday to France, and had to get a tent + airbed for the children to sleep on. At this moment (23rd August) I am being charged via Camptoo and additional 164 Euros surcharges. 2020 update - the Camptoo charges have been waived but I never received the 500 Euros back from RICO Recreatie.

I have very bad experiences with this company. I would therefore strongly advise against buying or renting anything from these people. Really 100% don't.

Very good service and when picking up the camper, they take all the time to explain the camper. Very customer-friendly.

This rental company does not even deserve a star so BAD we are treated here !. At the end of 2019 we rented a camper here for 2020. Unfortunately, we could not go on holiday with the camper due to Covid19. We wanted to move this to 2021. Unfortunately, the employees were not helpful and did not want to move. We then offered to cancel the deposit of 200 euros and if they could still rent out the camper that we did not have to get the 200 back. This proposal was also immediately dismissed. Conclusion: NEVER rent a camper here !!!!!!!!

Never again! They showed us a camper that we could rent with 4 bike carriers and a king-size bed (we mentioned that we went on holiday with 3 people and that the child would sleep with us on a large bed). Afterwards it turned out that we got a camper with 2 bicycle carriers and also with a small bed. We were treated terribly when making an objection. They have hair on their teeth, should something go wrong, you can't get out with these people. So not even an excuse, just hear that they have a fantastic company. Really bizarre! Furthermore, we got a camper for 4 weeks with leaky drainage of dirty water, so we either had to walk with buckets of dirty water or accept dirty mud under the camper. Mentioned on return, but that was ignored, but for small cover of electricity cable that was lost, they paid 40 euros and they also wanted to charge a fine of 150 euros for not reserving cleaning of the outside. The corona scheme for people with children is not acceptable. You cannot go on holiday for 4 consecutive weeks before 2021 if you have school-aged children. Overall, very disappointing experience. Company quality becomes clearly visible when problems need to be solved. Dropped heavily ....
