National Genever Museum Schiedam

Interesting collection, and being able to look around an active brewery was a pleasure. I liked the tasting afterwards, but altogether the visit was rather expensive: not much bang for your buck.

We really enjoyed our trip to the museum. The staff were very friendly and very passionate about explaining more about Jenever. My only feedback would be that the museum should offer a combi-ticket for museum + tasting. The individual prices were 12,50€ and 12,50€; you’d expect a combi-ticket for 20€ would be possible when booking both.

It can be a bit dry at times, but this museum is still a wonderful place to learn about Genever. There are a lot of bottles and equipment on display and the staff is very informative.

Loved the museum and the audio can be switched to English if you need it as well as the talk done by one of the brewers. I felt the talk was the best bit and he was very engaging and welcoming.

Went on a Saturday in June, told it was quiet so no English Language explanation. Did the self guide walk through..tasting costs more and was at set times. Bit unexciting really. Decided to spend less and bought a great bottle of Gin from a local shop for 11 Euros who let me sample first!!
