Kunstinstituut Melly

Large open spaces hosting works for two different institutions. Currently the top floor is closed so the combination ticket is only 4.50. Large bright cafe as well.

Nice and diverse collection of fine art. The museum is not that big which makes it easy to have a visite for about 1,5 hour. The art is diverse but as well inlign with each other. It is easly located on the Witte de With street close to a parking lot.

They often have artists with perspectives that matter, the more interesting exhibitions. Not always an easy bite, but rewarding.

Usually interesting contemporary exhibitions but very conceptual, might be vague without context or explanation.

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed of my last visit to this museum. I expected a lot and what I found was a lot of empty rooms, no explanation of anything and some random things put along the museum with no explanatory thread at all. Maybe it was just that exhibition, but I was thankful to my MuseumKart because I entered for free. A 10€ entrance would not have been worth it at all.
