Novotel Rotterdam Brainpark

Stayed 5 nights with our two little boys in two rooms. Rooms were ok. Breakfast was avarage and if you go there after around 8, you would probably find not so many things to eat.

Location: Very easy to reach, by car, just off the ring road. Kralingse Zoom is the nearest Metro station & its about 5 minutes walk. The nearst tram is the last stop of Tram 7 (Tram 21 & 24 can be used too) about 5 minutes walk through the Erasmus University. Room: Basic four star room, comfortable bed (180cm), a mini fridge (empty) is available in room. The sofa bed is present but not comfortable to sleep if used as bed. Ample storage space for putting your clothes etc. Working desk with a lamp and a network connection available however no pads / pens / paper provided to work (this is a minus point, as usually Four stars hotels do provide that & hence the rating is three stars for this review). Toilet: Dated, maintained and very well cleaned yet dated. The room we stayed in, tub was loose and made noises. The shower nozzle was loose and was coming out if we open the tap for good pressure. Parking: €10 per night, only because Brainpark has been marked as paid parking by the organisation maintaining the Brainpark, otherside of the university the street parking is completely free (if you manage to find one), but million dollar question is would you leave your car at street away from hotel specially if your car has a foreign plate? So may be worth paying €10 a night. Breakfast: When I checked the description of what is offered in breakfast, I decided not to go for it its €21 per person and not worth at all. Restaurant: We had dinner there one night and its pretty decent. Recommended.

The staff were incredibly friendly, my children got a lil monkey stuff toys as a welcome guest presents when we arrived.They appreciate it much and they won't forget it. It was a clean room and spacious enough. Breakfast was absolutely delicious!

Although the location is a bit out of the way and a good 10 min walk from the tram/metro stops, the rooms are pleasant enough - what you would expect from a Novotel. I expect it would be a perfect location if visiting with a car. The standout for me was the breakfast, with the buffet much better stocked than other Novotels I have visited particularly the continental selection. The staff were also friendly. I would visit this hotel again.
