With my original experience as an educator coming from the United States, I have found the professional expertise and care for students at Zuider Gymnasium top notch! Working as a native English speaker instructing English as a second language at Zuider Gymnasium, I know the heartbeat of the school leadership and teachers and I see on a daily basis their unwavering dedication to meeting the needs of every student, providing a safe, accepting learning environment, and challenging, creative curriculum. I have worked at a handful of schools in my career, both in the Netherlands and America, and I can say that Zuider's excellent pedagogy and educational organization is unparalleled. As an international highly-skilled migrant, I have found Zuider to be warm and welcoming, while also envigorating in working to provide the most advanced curriculum and instruction 21st century research has to offer. Zuider Gymnasium is definitely a school that will help you reach your fullest potential!

Very nice school! Our oldest son graduated in 2020, now 2 children at this school. We are very satisfied. Good guidance of the students, short lines of communication with teachers. School organizes fun school trips and other theme activities. Distance learning was picked up quickly in the COVID-19 period. The ZG was also one of the few schools in R'dam and surroundings where all students could go to school every day after opening in June 2020. Our children enjoy going to this school and find the travel time of more than an hour more than worth it .

I have been working at this school for over two years now and I enjoy doing it. It cannot be denied that this school has had its share of problems, but the upward trend is undeniable and is still continuing. The move to the new building (formerly Zuiderziekenhuis) will be the icing on the cake. I think it is great that I have been able to contribute something to this positive development. Apart from that, it is just a very pleasant school with just very nice students. All together they form a good reflection of Rotterdam. The atmosphere is harmonious. The climate is liberal and tolerant (it sounds like a cliché, but with us everyone can really be themselves) and I don't notice any conflict between students along ethnic or other dividing lines. The relationship with colleagues is pleasant and informal, but above all there is a very positive team spirit (something that was sometimes lacking a few years ago). And this again has a positive effect on the students. Ultimately, it is about them. After all, there is an atmosphere that is difficult to name: let me just say that it is an atmosphere of progress and optimism. It's really nice to work here; that's why I think it's a nice place to go to secondary school.

A safe, warm and involved school, with nice students and professional teachers. Extra support when needed and challenging for all students. Pupils are known and supervised here, teachers work with enthusiasm.
