I have an old bell of my grandmother that when he did not want me to work as a hobby clockmaker had watched and learned that two parts were damaged / defective. I then put all loose parts in the clock, hoping that they could be replaced.
Upon entering, the man behind the counter said "Oh a clock without a timepiece".
To which I explained the above scenario. He gave a glance and said "I don't start hobby work".
I told him that if necessary a different timepiece could be put in, then these parts could go away. To which he said "I think these can no longer be ordered". I asked do you want to try that? No, .. Maybe a colleague but not me.
I don't mind that it can't be done, but I don't accept the comments and the lack of customer friendliness.
My 85-year-old mother brought an antique Comtoise clock (an heirloom) for repair. Now, due to the lack of proper administration, the owner appears to have lost the clock and probably given it to another customer! So if the customer who has my mom's clock please report. This heirloom has been (was) in our possession for 45 years.
