De Vonk basisschool Odijk

3 years ago we made a conscious choice for De Vonk because of the small scale and the good atmosphere that we experienced during the tour. The points for improvement to be implemented were discussed openly and we see that these are being realized step by step. We now have 2 enthusiastic children at this school and we also experience through our own involvement that the possibilities of your child are carefully considered. Contact with teachers and management is easily accessible despite the current corona measures. During the closure of the schools from March to May, the team switched very quickly and set up digital education. If necessary, chromebooks could be borrowed and the emergency shelter was well looked after. We look forward to the coming years with great confidence!

The children always enjoy going to this school, because they like the atmosphere and there is an eye for each other's well-being. They are treated with respect. In the last few years, de Vonk has gone through a nice change with the introduction of more project-based education. In which the subjects (such as geography and history) are not discussed separately but in combination with each other. That way it is easier for the children to relate this to each other. In addition, they gain many skills with this project-based work that are also necessary and useful in secondary school (ev). Such as working together, creating a project, taking responsibility for your own work. The group-breaking provision of language and arithmetic also gives children more space to develop on the path that suits them. Both the children who need more of a challenge and children who need extra attention get this at school. There are several facilities for this and these are used consistently. There is always room for improvement, for more learning results, the team of teachers knows that too. That is why they have embraced the Lean philosophy and are working towards this both in the classroom and in the team.

All three of my children have sat or are still on the Vonk. Of course there are things that can be done differently in my opinion, but people also think about my work. The teachers work every day to develop the greatest treasure of other people. It makes sense that everyone has an opinion on this. But, here they teach with passion and pleasure. I admire the developments within the school, the picking up of new teaching methods, digitization, the library, gym teachers, subject teachers, parent participation, reversal conversations. I see how different education is now, with my youngest compared to my oldest. I think it is great that all these developments have been implemented, while teaching was normal. What makes the school period special for me is how we sympathize. After the birth of the youngest, he was allowed to be shown at school, when grandma was ill the whole class made a boost, when grandma was gone, there was room for the grief. And when the two elders come by now, everyone is interested and interested. The best teachers work at De Vonk!

In the past years we have had 3 children at the Vonk with correct satisfaction. Last year again had extremely positive experience in the intensive and periodic (quarterly 1 on 1 evaluation) guidance from son to secondary school with targeted advice direction. Partly because of this, he is enjoying his secondary education. Thank you for this and very satisfied with the Vonk, formerly Nicolaasschool! Always had great contact.

We are very happy with the Vonk! Our oldest has just graduated from high school. Had difficulty on several fronts and was very well supervised, which means that she has come to a good school for her with a lot of thought. We are very grateful to the director and teachers and have only good words left. Our youngest daughter is still on the Vonk. Is doing very well, is a mediator and is in the flex class. This has good added value for her. We therefore speak nothing more than praise for De Vonk.
