Natuureiland Oostergast

The nature island is a beautiful green oasis in a spaciously built new housing estate. This place will remain free of buildings and is ideally suited for playing or walking. The site is also accessible with dogs. The natural island is separated from the residential area by a natural barrier, namely a ditch. Access can be provided via one of the two bridges, on the north side there is a natural connection. On the island there is a diversity of flowers, trees and plants, there are elevations from where you get a nice overview of the Oostergast. Finally, there is a kick field with two goals and the island is still under development. Once completed, the Oostergast would have 2 nature islands, of which this is the primary and largest. At the time of writing, the development of phase 3a still seems a long way off. The highest point of the nature island is ideally suited to wave to Thim and Inge!
