To gain my practical knowledge and technical details of the gas and liquid chromatography equipment, Helga Walters and Peter Faes prepared the individual hand-on training plan for the whole week! They even gave a bonus to have one extra day on training. Thank you for this! It was a wonderful training experience! Their attention, welcome attitude and enthusiastic approach allowed not only to ask all possible questions, but also to see even beyond the course: e.g. Peter showed me how various MS equipment look inside…how triple quadrupole for HPLC look like inside! How collision cell look like inside! How single quadrupole look like inside for GC! To remember what parameter effect the chromatogram quality and separation in an easy way, Peter suggested and helped me to make a helpful table with these parameter correlations. And it worked! If something was complex like IEC (Metrohm), Peter showed and explained me this LC structure and how it works, how switch and loop work. I asked to explain it again and Peter explained me it twice! And for the third time I was able to explain how this equipment works myself. Such approached allowed me to absorb and remember this information firmly. Inserting columns, starting up the equipment, performing tasks and of course troubleshooting allowed to gain the firm approach to various equipment (LC and GC) and to various brands. Even the principle of work is very similar, even the same, still each brand works slightly different: e.g. inlet and detector can locate differently on equipment and column needs to be inserted also differently. Similar trend was noticed for degasser, purge valve, and pump for LC. Thank you Peter for your attention, patience, for checking the tables, tasks, thank you for the enthusiasm, and for giving more information, for answering various questions, and for showing various chromatography equipment parts! Thank you Helga for preparing/coordinating this training, for organizing delicious lunches and coffee pauses, for flexibility in schedule planning, for preparing and sending theoretical information. It was fantastic, intensive, fun and full of hands-on training experience! Thank you for the awesome training!

I follow a 3 day program capillaire gc level 2. Everything was organised very well. Very friendly an helpful teachers learnd us in the morning the theoretical parts which we could us in a practical part after lunch. For me it has been a successful 3 days studying.

This year I obtained the diploma for the HIT-W. The Avans + post-graduate course is the ideal professional deepening of the existing MBO and HBO courses for (installation) technology. Almost all aspects of the field are covered and are very challenging to work with. The subject teachers are all focused on their own field and come from practice. They can help and understand you well from that position. As a class representative I always had direct contact with the program manager, so Avans + is always immediately available for any questions or coordination.

Followed the HIT-W training at Avans + from 2017 to early 2020, definitely recommended in the field of installation technology! The lessons and supervision are given by professionals from the business community, so that the connection between work and study is optimal.
