We were looking for someone who could guide us through the process towards my father's funeral. Someone who kept us on the right path, and who set the right priorities and kept our focus, without immediately taking the helm. And that is exactly what Lonneke did. We were in charge of the things we wanted to do ourselves, with the right amount of input and guidance from her. It is up to us to choose location, box, interpretation of the service, maps and so on. No unnecessary arrangements, costs or overhead.
Lonneke, thank you for your support and guidance in this difficult week. Your warmth and respectful treatment has made this a lot more bearable for all of us. Hopefully we don't need you for the time being, but if we do, we are sure to find you!
Lonneke became involved in arranging my husband's funeral. I had a number of specific wishes and ideas about the interpretation of his farewell service. And partly because of Lonneke's involvement and empathy, the service has become so beautiful that there were even reactions from those present who said that their funeral may also be done in this way. And that the farewell service made a deep impression on those present, because it showed who my was.
Lonneke had a good overview of what had to be arranged, is punctual in her appointments and, in Brabantian terms, has her legs run out from under her body. And was able to connect in a natural way with my wishes and thoughts. Without her help I could not have done this this way. Partly because of this, I can look back on a worthy farewell to my husband.
