This memorial commemorates eight people (2 adults and 6 children) who were killed on November 24, 1944 while collecting ammunition. The victims are buried in a collective grave on the R.K. Schinnen Cemetery. The stone with the plaque was first the monument and this was a little further on, at the site of the explosion. Now it has moved slightly and is part of a larger monument along with 8 large stones, one for each victim, and a poem. Source: Tracés of war
