Although it is one of the many churches in Leerdam, this is an old (15th century) and monumental-beautiful: on the square, in the middle of the city, the market around it. The guide defines it as (note): late Gothic pseudobasilical cross church. Thick square tower (or turret), its proportions seem a bit strange. Leerdam is part of the Dutch bible belt; In addition to this Reformed church, you can also go to one of the many Reformed churches, with quite a few divisions that can only be understood by experts (such as: Reformed, Reformed in the Netherlands, Christian Reformed - find the differences).

Beautiful, historic church. There was a photo exhibition. The church is not open to the public every day, but it is open on Wednesday afternoons. Volunteers are committed to this. Entry is free, but you can make a contribution to the offer block. Furthermore, the center of Leerdam makes an uninviting and somewhat messy impression. There is also visible vacancy. The new council should bring in some experts for advice. Leerdam has a lot of potential in terms of tourism due to its history and location. An attractive center is part of this. Maybe a classification can be learned from Wijk bij Duurstede.
